On Wednesday, October 15, Zeenath Hasan will give a lecture on the theme ‘Picking wild food: an act of resistance’. The lecture is open to the public and is part of the Greenhouse Artist Talks lecture series, where artists are invited to present work related to urban gardening and archives.

What: Artist talks in the greenhouse
When: Wednesday, Oct 15, at 17-19.
Where: Växthuset, Slottsträdgårdens kafé (map)
Whom: everyone, open to the public

Zeenath Hasan’s work consciously engages with the space of food production for humans. Her talk will reflect on foraging (searching for wild food resources) as a conscious act of resistance, which is deeply entangled with humans and non-humans in the making of meetings. Hasan is an ethnographer and food entrepreneur based in Malmö, Sweden. Her kitchen project Tapori Tiffins is located in the cosmopolitan district affectionately known to the locals as Möllan.

Update: Zeenath Hasan’s Greenhouse Artist Talk is now posted on YouTube, and embedded below.

Greenhouse Artist Talks
This series of talks invites artistic practitioners to present and explore work related to urban gardening and archives. The greenhouse (‘växthuset’ at the café in Slottsträdgården, Malmö) becomes a site for research and artistic practice curated by Veronica Wiman, this as part of the research within the Living Archives research project at Malmö University. Some of the artists presenting on this fall are Zeenath Hasan, Sunshine Socialist Cinema (Kristina Muntzig and Kalle Brolin), Learning Site, Apolonija Šušteršič, and Bonnie Fortune.
